Unique Ceramic Sculpture, circa 1960

At the end of the forties, Jacques Pouchain left Paris and interrupted his training as an architect to devote himself to art in the south of France. He installed a ceramic workshop at Dieulefit where he created a personal work and a utilitarian production. His practice of a white enamel resting on an oxide of manganese that is an engraved decoration is quite similar to the Anglo-Saxon practices of the 1950s. In the 1960s, he tackled abstraction before developing, in the 1970s, the Theme of femininity and fertility.
