Jean Gillon, born in 1919 in Iasi, Romania, is a leading figure in Brazilian interior design and furniture. After graduating in architecture from the University of Fine Arts in Bucharest, he began his career in Europe. In 1956, he moved to Brazil, attracted by the country’s creative opportunities.

Gillon distinguished himself by his unique style, combining European elegance with Brazilian authenticity. He founded several companies, including “Fábrica de Móveis Cidam” and “WoodArt”, producing furniture emblematic of Brazilian modernism. His creations, such as the “Jangada” and “Amazonas” armchairs, incorporate elements of Brazilian culture and craftsmanship while remaining modern.

In addition to his work in furniture design, Jean Gillon is also recognized for his contributions as an interior decorator and textile artist. He has created tapestries and textile works exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. Jean Gillon lived in Brazil until his death in 2007, leaving a lasting legacy in design and architecture.
